Video: Disney Wish Hits Water for the First Time, Floats Out of Building Dock

Updated:

The Disney Wish has hit a huge milestone! Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship hit water for the first time as it floated out of its enclosed building dock at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany.

The brand new ship slowly floated out of the building, and Disney celebrated the event fireworks. The five-minute video below documented the float out.

It’s reported that it took five hours and 29 million gallons of water to flood the building dock and float the Disney Wish into the water.

Recently, Disney Cruise Line announced that the Disney Wish would be delayed by a little over a month. The maiden voyage has been pushed back to July 14, 2022. Now that the first float has taken place, we expect Disney Cruise Line is hard at work finishing out the ship’s details to get ready for guests this summer.
