The new home for Indiana Jones at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is really taking shape! New aerial photos show the Mayan temple that makes up the outside of the Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent attraction now has theming and some bright colors.
Our favorite eye-in-the-sky reporter @bioreconstruct captured a great look at the temple’s progress.
Eagle-eye readers may spot an old Dino Institute logo on the building. We hope Disney just covers it up and doesn’t destroy it. Some DinoLand USA history sitting just under the new facade feels appropriate.

It looks great! It’s wild how different this area is going to feel when the Tropical Americas opens. We’ll miss DinoLand USA and one of our favorite quick-service spot, Restaurantosaurus, but we’re excited to see how this all turns out.
It’s also fascinating comparing the ongoing work on the ride’s facade to Disney’s original concept art. There’s obviously still a lot of work to do, but so far we’re impressed by the brighter colors on the temple.
What kind of journey will guests be taking with Indiana Jones? Thankfully, it’s a brand new story and not a clone of the similar Indiana Jones ride out in Disneyland.
You’ll rendezvous with Dr. Jones, who is in the midst of exploring this mysterious temple near a once water-filled underground cave, called a cenote. Local legend says the passageway leads directly to the Maya Underworld, and is protected by a serpentine creature: the Tsukán. The adventure takes off when riders are unwittingly sucked through a portal to the Underworld, where they’ll have to escape perilous dangers, like monstrous bats, larger-than-life scorpions, fire and flame, and of course, snakes.
