Planning a trip to Walt Disney World in 2028? You’ll want to be aware of the Disney Skyliner’s refurbishment dates for 2028. Disney has announced that the transportation system will go down for maintenance January 24 through February 2, 2028.
Disney will provide bus transportation to the locations normally served by the Skyliner.
As a reminder, the Disney Skyliner will close in 2027 between January 24 through January 30, 2027. Disney has been routinely using the last week of January (give or take a few days) to perform maintenance on the Disney Skyliner. That’s important to remember if you’re staying at Disney’s Pop Century, Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Caribbean Beach, or Disney’s Riviera resorts during this time period.
There’s always the chance a refurbishment could be extended. With that in mind, we advise giving a couple days of buffer at the end of the refurbishment window if you’re planning to stay at one of the impacted resorts.
Honestly, we think the Disney Skyliner is one of the best ways to get around Walt Disney World. Its closure is a big blow for the resorts it serves. We’d recommend booking around the Skyliner’s closure, if at all possible.
