Guests will have to wait a bit longer to sail on the Disney Wish. Disney Cruise Line has announced the maiden voyage of the Disney Wish is being delayed back to July 14, 2022. This is about a one-month delay from the originally planned maiden voyage on June 9, 2022.
NEW: The Disney Wish has been delayed a month – impacting the first 12 sailings.
The maiden voyage has moved from June 9 to July 14 (guests will be auto-booked on the new voyage).
The 12 sailings:
6/9, 6/14 (DVC), 6/17, 6/20, 6/24, 6/27, 7/1, 7/4, 7/8, 7/11, 7/15, 7/18 pic.twitter.com/TsOsmtWLUE— Scott Gustin (@ScottGustin) February 3, 2022
The first 12 itineraries on the Disney Wish will be impacted by this change. Guests who were sailing on the maiden voyage will be automatically rebooked for the new date. The new schedule will call for the maiden voyage on July 14, the DVC itinerary on July 19 and then regular sailing beginning on July 22.
Impacted guests can book a new date and receive a 50% discount. Disney Cruise Line has temporarily halted public bookings for the Disney Wish until February 8 to allow for guests impacted by this change to adjust their plans.
Shipyard delays were cited as the reason behind the maiden voyage date being pushed back. Most recently we saw the final block being installed on the Disney Wish in December 2021, giving a relatively short timeline to complete the last details.
