Video: Health and safety update for resort guests at Walt Disney World

Updated:

Select Walt Disney World resorts will begin welcoming back guests in just a couple weeks on June 22, 2020. We’ve already covered what will and what won’t be available when these resorts initially reopen, but now Disney has released a new guide and video covering health and safety at their resorts.

Katie Kelly, Vice President of Worldwide Safety Services, outlined some of the safety enhancements and what guests should expect after the resorts initially reopen.

Summarized, Disney has evolved their cleaning procedures to address the ongoing pandemic. High-contact areas (door knobs, light switches, etc) will be sanitized, select items such as the television remote will be wrapped to ensure cleanliness, and much more.

In addition to Disney outlining their new cleaning protocols, they’re actively asking guests to play a role in maintaining a healthy environment through social distancing, frequent hand washing, and more. The resort experience will look very different when Walt Disney World eventually reopens, but it will be nice to see guests returning in the near future.
