New Concept Art and Details Announced for Disney Lakeshore Lodge

Updated:

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is the newest resort set to join the growing list of Walt Disney World hotels. Scheduled to open in Summer 2027, Disney Lakeshore Lodge will add 967 rooms to the Magic Kingdom Resort area. With the opening window sitting just a little over a year away, Disney released new information about the new hotel property.

What’s Disney Lakeshore Lodge all about? The resort will be the newest Disney Vacation Club (DVC) resort in Disney World. Though it is a DVC property, it will also have traditional rooms. The hotel aims to celebrate nature by paying tribute to the Disney animated films that are rooted in nature. It sounds like they’ll accomplish that with subtle nods to films like Pocahontas, Bambi, and Brother Bear.

Here’s the latest description from Disney about Disney Lakeshore Lodge:

Nestled along the tranquil shores of Bay Lake, Disney Lakeshore Lodge will invite families to slow down, take in their surroundings, and create cherished memories together. Spectacular floor‑to‑ceiling windows will welcome natural sunlight and showcase views of the local flora and fauna, allowing the outdoors to flow seamlessly into the architecture, artwork, and ambiance.

The resort will feature a variety of guest accommodations. Disney Lakeshore Lodge will have studios, suites, and even one and two-bedroom Lake Houses along the waterfront. Those Lake Houses are the A-frame style buildings we talked about back in June 2025. Disney notes that many rooms will have view of the water and even the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Details about the resort’s dining and recreation haven’t been announced at this time. However, we’ve seen both a lazy river and a slide are being built at the resort’s main pool. Dining is a bit of a mystery as plans may have changed since the hotel was originally designed under the ‘Reflections’ name.

Let’s quickly talk about that new concept art. Overall, we see a lot of similarities to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. That seems like a good thing, though the theming doesn’t seem quite as ambitious as what’s over at Wilderness Lodge. This nature-themed resort is going to have to do something special if it wants to be viewed as kindly as Wilderness Lodge.
