Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is Starting Earlier Than Ever in 2026

Updated:

Disney has revealed the 2026 schedule for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom. The Halloween celebration will begin earlier than ever this year, kicking off on select nights starting August 7 and running through October 31.

Here’s a full look at the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party schedule:

  • August 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 23, 25, 28, 30
  • September 1, 4, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 27, 29
  • October 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 13, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31

That’s right, the Magic Kingdom’s first Halloween bash is closer to Memorial Day than it is to Halloween. And it’s not even close! August 7 is 74 days after Memorial Day and 85 days before Halloween. We’ve always joked Disney is going to keep pushing Halloween further into the summer, and now the 2026 party will start before kids are even done with summer break.

Haunted Mansion during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom

For what it’s worth, this early start date isn’t entirely Disney’s fault. Historically, they’ve started Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on the Friday of the first full week in August. This year that Friday falls on the 7th. A couple years ago it fell on the 9th.

The early August start also means guests will start seeing Halloween decorations going up during the first week of August. Hopefully that work will at least wait until the calendar flips to August. We’re among the more passionate Disney fans, and even we don’t want to see Halloween stuff in July.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will once again include many favorites this year – the Boo-to-You Parade, a special fireworks show, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular, trick-or-treating around the park, and much more. New for 2026 is a dance party with Stitch and friends in Tomorrowland. Disney also teased that villains might roam around the park throughout the night, which would be a great addition.

Halloween decorations in the Magic Kingdom

We still highly recommend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Guests are able to enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4pm and enjoy a night that’s loaded with entertainment. The parties have gotten more expensive and more crowded over the year, but we feel it’s still one of Disney’s best events.
