The Cove hotel is taking shape near the Swan and Dolphin Resorts at Disney World

The craziness of the last few months has made it easy to lose track of some of the construction projects around Walt Disney World. Most projects have been shut down since around the time the theme parks and resorts closed, but The Cove hotel has made some significant progress since we last looked in March.

The Cove hotel is the new 14-story tower that’s going in as a sibling resort to the existing Swan and Dolphin resorts owned by Marriott. We’ve mostly been following its progress through aerial images, but @WDWTraveler has provided a great update from the road.

As tall as The Cove already is, it still has several stories to go before it reaches its 14-story height. You can already see how dramatically it has changed the quiet area that used to surround the miniature golf courses that are just a short walk from the Swan, Dolphin and Epcot resorts.

The Cove will have 349 guest rooms, rooftop dining and over 20,000 feet of meeting space. Once completed, The Cove is expected to add expanded options for business professionals stay in and around the Epcot resort area.

The Cove was originally scheduled to open in early 2021, but that date is definitely subject to change.
