Pilings are being installed for Epcot’s new fireworks show

Updated:

Here’s a quick construction update on the new fireworks show that’s coming to Epcot in 2020. Pilings that will support the new show are being installed in the World Showcase Lagoon.

The always great @bioreconstruct offered a quick look at the pilings that have already been installed.

Meanwhile, work is also underway on the two islands in World Showcase Lagoon. Previously we saw construction barges in place on the islands preparing to make the necessary infrastructure upgrades.

Blog Mickey captured an image showing just how drastic some of the changes have been to the islands.

The new show, which will debut at some point in 2020, is expected to be a multicultural celebration of all things Disney. Disney hasn’t revealed too much about the new show outside of the concept art below. Any guesses what the pilings will be used for?

We’re excited for the new nighttime spectacular at Epcot even though it signals the end of the beloved Illuminations.
