It’s time for another update on the new fireworks show that’s coming to EPCOT.
The show, which remains unnamed at this time, is supposed to debut in EPCOT in late 2023. Despite the lack of details on the new show, crews have been busy installing pilings in the center of World Showcase Lagoon. Some of those pilings are being used to form a new hexagonal platform.

The hexagonal platform looks like it may be used as a center docking point for the show’s new barges. The barges will likely be brought out into World Showcase Lagoon each night, preserving those daytime EPCOT views and solving one of the big problems with Harmonious.
Here’s another look at the platform from within World Showcase.

It’s surprising how few details have been officially released about the new fireworks show. So far, we know there will be lights, lasers, music, and lots of fireworks. Disney’s summary about the new show was pretty vague, and sounded a lot like Harmonious.
Time is quickly running out in 2023 and Disney’s marketing engine usually jumps at the chance to promote anything new well in advance. Is it possible they’re playing their cards more carefully about EPCOT’s new show after the disaster that was Harmonious? Will the new show be delayed?
Disney will have to release more details soon if they plan to stick with the 2023 debut date. D23 is coming up in September, and that may be when we learn if the new show is still on schedule.
