Disney Cruise Line to launch a simulated cruise June 29 at Port Canaveral

Disney Cruise Line has been approved to run a simulated two-night cruise on June 29 from Port Canaveral. The CDC’s approval will allow Disney Cruise Line to test its health and safety measures before they resume normal operation.

The news was announced in a letter by Thomas Mazloum, President of Disney Signature Experiences.

The two-night simulated voyage will take place June 29 to July 1 with Disney Cruise Line cast members acting as passengers. Safety protocols such as increased distancing, enhanced cleaning and modifications to how guests dine and enjoy entertainment on board will be tested and reviewed. The general public will not be involved in this initial test.

Currently, all U.S. itineraries have been cancelled through July 2021. Assuming the test sailing goes well, this should mean Disney Cruise Line will resume sailing in the near future. Look for additional information on the simulated sailing to be released soon.
