New Test Track Canopy Taking Shape at EPCOT

It’s once again time to check in on the update to Test Track at EPCOT. While the vast majority of the most interesting work is taking place inside away from prying eyes, the ride’s exterior is getting a significant overhaul. The old canopy that blocked much of the ride building is long gone, and a new less intrusive canopy is taking shape.

Based on the concept art, this new canopy will provide needed cover while maintaining a low profile that allows Test Track’s building to shine. The new circular canopy complements the ride building and its original “wheel” design that was created for the World of Motion attraction.

Once open, Disney says the new Test Track will “will celebrate today’s innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future.”

The updated Test Track is scheduled to reopen in late summer 2025.
