Is Disney CEO Bob Iger planning to stay at Disney? A new report suggests that Iger may be pursuing a contract extension when his current deal expires in December 2024.
The possible contract extension for Iger was reported by Fox Business.
SCOOP: People close to @Disney tell @FoxBusiness @RobertIger is likely to seek a contract extension beyond his current one (expiring in Dec 2024) as the company giant faces hurdles in finding a successor. More on that and our interview w $BLK CEO Larry Fink at 345pm w @LizClaman

Iger served as Disney CEO from 2005 to 2020 before he turned over the reins to Bob Chapek. Chapek’s rocky tenure was brief and Iger returned to the company as CEO in November 2022. Iger agreed at that time to a two-year deal where his focus would be on finding a new successor.
Iger’s return has been surrounded by unsettled finances around the Walt Disney Company. Questions surround Disney’s investments in their shows, movies, and theme parks. Iger’s attention has been primarily focused on righting the ship financially, and the search for a new CEO might have fallen into a secondary spot.
Internally at Disney there aren’t many great options to ascend to CEO. Looking externally, there’s probably a lot of debate over what kind of candidate would fit what Disney needs most right now. It’s not an easy decision given the current unsettled atmosphere around Disney.
Would you like to see Iger extend his run as CEO? Or are you ready to see someone new leading Disney?
