Disney is quickly moving forward with the reimagining of the old Innoventions East at Epcot. With the Creations Shop open as Epcot’s primary merchandise location, the temporary location of MouseGear has been gutted.
Crews quickly tore apart the temporary store, removing just about everything except structural columns. Work is now underway to build out what’s believed to be a new quick-service restaurant and permanent Starbucks.

Disney hasn’t released any specifics on the new quick-service restaurant. It’s supposed to be a replacement for the old Electric Umbrella (RIP), but that’s about all we know.
Starbucks is also expected to have a new home here after the Fountain View was demolished. A temporary location is currently serving guests near the entrance of World Showcase.
As you can see, Disney is making big changes in this space. We welcome the future where Epcot has fewer construction walls and more destinations for guests.
