Several new attractions, entertainment offerings, and experiences are scheduled to open at Walt Disney World this summer! Disney has announced the reopening dates for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and revealed when guests can enjoy an updated Smugglers Run and Soarin’.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Early May 2026
The wildest ride in the wilderness is set to reopen in early May 2026. The Magic Kingdom’s thrilling coaster has been closed since January 2025 for an extensive refurbishment. Disney used this time to completely replace the track and update other familiar effects.
Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin – April 8, 2026
Another ride at the Magic Kingdom is about to reopen after a major overhaul. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will reopen on April 8, 2026. Guests will use new hand-held blasters that will include an always-on laser. Defeating Zurg will include new lighting, targets, sound, and vibration effects. Who will get the new high score?
Soarin’ Across America – May 26, 2026
Soarin’ at EPCOT is preparing to launch a brand new journey! Soarin’ Across America will open on May 26, 2026 and will take guests to iconic destinations around America. Anything else? Oh yeah, have a nice flight.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets – Summer 2026
The Muppets takeover of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is set to be completed in Summer 2026. Disney hasn’t announced an official opening date at this time, but it looks like they’re trying to reopen the coaster as quickly as possible.
Mandalorian and Grogu on Smugglers Run – May 22, 2026
A brand new mission with the Mandalorian and Grogu is coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney’s Hollywood Studios beginning on May 22, 2026. In addition to the new mission, guests in the Engineer role will have the fun task of communicating with Grogu.
Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station – May 26, 2026
Bluey and Bingo are moving into the Conservation Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 26, 2026. The updated Conservation Station will give guests the chance to meet both characters while also seeing some new animals that are native to Australia.
