It’s time for another update on the construction over at Disney’s Coronado Springs resort. As the resort undergoes a major transformation, work is progressing on a new tower and over-the-water lounge. Everything is expected to be open in 2019.
Thanks to @bioreconstruct, we can see how the projects are shaping up compared to the released concept art. Let’s start with the new dominant feature at Coronado Springs – the 15-story tower.

The building is massive, but is progressing fairly quickly. Windows have been installed and some detail work on the lobby area has been completed.

Overall, Coronado Springs will feel like an entirely different resort by the time these projects are completed in 2019. The changes are designed to make the resort more appealing to businesses and conventions, offering a more upscale experience.
Hopefully the new buildings will still retain the charm and fun theming that made Coronado Springs a fun place to stay.
