People are stealing and reselling metal sporks from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Updated:

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge provided some unique utensils for guests dining at Disneyland. Metal sporks were the main utensil of choice, but that may change as guests have repeatedly stolen and tried to resell the utensil.

Sporks and metal serving trays were selected to be completely in theme with Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. Unfortunately, Disney may have to make a change at Disneyland and alter their plans at Walt Disney World as guests continue to try and take the utensils from the dining location.

A quick scan of eBay reveals a few listings for the sporks with prices ranging above $75. All of the listings claim to be rare, which we suppose is true because guests are literally stealing them. It’s also pretty comical that they’re listed as pre-owned. Used might be a better description.

This is why we can’t have nice things. Disney tried to create a slightly more immersive dining experience by providing a unique themed utensil. Guests have already ruined that by stealing the hefty metal sporks. Reports have already surfaced saying that Disneyland is now handing out plastic utensils in place of the metal sporks. It remains to be seen if this change is permanent or if it’s just until the initial hype dies down.
