Disney Confirms an “Updated Version” of ‘Happily Ever After’ Will Return in 2023

Updated:

Disney announced in September 2022 that the popular anthem from the Happily Ever After nighttime spectacular would return to the Magic Kingdom in 2023. Now, Disney has confirmed that an “updated version of the show” will play at the Magic Kingdom next year.

And as if that wasnโ€™t enough, one more fan-favorite is returning to Magic Kingdomโ€”the Happily Ever After fireworks will once again light up the sky with an updated version of the show in 2023.

This confirms that an updated version of Happily Ever After will return, and the catchy theme song won’t just be added to a new show. However, it’s unclear how similar the new version of the show will be to the old one. Disney will likely update several segments and possibly replace old scenes with those from new films (Encanto).

The current Disney Enchantment show added projections that play on the buildings on Main Street USA. It seems likely this technology will be used for the updated Happily Ever After, but that hasn’t been confirmed by Disney.

An opening date for the reimagined Happily Ever After hasn’t been announced at this time.
