Details and concept art for Epcot’s new festival pavilion

Epcot’s massive transformation will include neighborhoods, a brand new nighttime spectacular and an exciting addition to the United Kingdom pavilion in the form of Mary Poppins. The overhaul to what was formerly Future World will also include a new festival pavilion that’s touted as an architectural innovation.

The new festival pavilion will be a significant piece of the transformation that alters the area between Spaceship Earth and the beginning of World Showcase. The three-level structure, which kind of looks like a fancy coffee table, will serve as the home for Epcot’s festivals and offer up some incredible views of the nighttime spectaculars.

The building’s three levels are described as a plaza level, a middle expo level and a park on the very top level. Disney describes the festival pavilion as the ideal home for both live events and the home base for all of Epcot’s many festivals.

The design of the building looks like it’s straight out of the old concepts for Future World.

At the very least, the new festival pavilion should offer some great shade and protection from the rain. Looking at the top level that features a “park” according to Disney, we could easily see this location becoming the home of a future dessert party. It almost seems too perfect as a dessert party or fireworks FastPass+ location.

What do you think of the new festival pavilion?
