Aerial construction update of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel

Construction is continuing to move ahead on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel at Walt Disney World. New aerial photos show the addition of a large berm by the hotel and updates to the arrival experience.

First, let’s take a look at the berm that will conceal the majority of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel from guests.

Landscaping should hide the bulk of the hotel both from the road and from guests arriving for an immersive Star Wars experience.

Looking at the side of the building, the “dock” for transportation is starting to take shape.

It’s believed guests will board “ships” (themed busses that will mimic a starship journey) to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Think of it as a port adventure to Batuu to use a cruise ship analogy.

Taking a wider view of the area, a parking lot is notably absent from the site.

Disney may elect to have guests park at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in their expanded lot when staying at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel. Specific details on the arrival experience haven’t been outlined by Disney at this time.

The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel is currently scheduled to open in 2021.
