The Disney Destiny is Disney Cruise Line’s Newest Ship Launching in 2025

Updated:

Disney Cruise Line has revealed the name and theme of their next ship that will debut in 2025. The Disney Destiny will be the third of the Triton-class ships (joining the Wish and Treasure), and will be themed to Heroes and Villains.

Below is the video for the Disney Destiny announcement.

Disney elaborated on the Heroes and Villains theme, saying:

Onboard, guests will encounter heroes and villains alike โ€“ including those from beloved Walt Disney Animation stories like โ€œThe Lion King,โ€ โ€œHerculesโ€ and โ€œOne Hundred and One Dalmatiansโ€ โ€“ within spaces, experiences and entertainment throughout their voyage.

With the Disney Destiny being the third (and likely final) ship in the Triton-class series, we already have a pretty good idea of what to expect. The Destiny’s overall layout should match up extremely closely to the layouts on the Wish and Treasure. It’s unlikely any significant structural changes were made.

We recently compared how the Disney Treasure was different from the Disney Wish. The summary is that the two ships have mostly-identical spaces that carry different themes. Where the Wish has a Star Wars lounge, the Treasure has a Haunted Mansion lounge. The Wish and its Frozen themed restaurant is replaced with a Coco themed restaurant on the Treasure. And so on. The Disney Destiny will likely continue that trend.

Let’s talk a bit about that 2025 launch date. Disney specifically mentions the ship will sail in 2025, but that doesn’t leave much breathing room for the Disney Treasure and its December 2024 launch. We assume that means the Disney Destiny will be at the very end of 2025. Maybe December again?

Disney hasn’t announced where the Destiny will sail or what kind of itineraries it’ll feature for guests. We’d expect additional information about the Disney Destiny to come out at D23 this summer.
