Skating Show Coming to Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios

Updated:

Disney has announced that Jollywood Nights, the ticketed holiday celebration, will return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2024. The event will take place on select nights starting November 9 through December 21. New to Jollywood Nights this year is a “skating spectacular” that will occur several times throughout the night on Hollywood Boulevard.

Here’s Disney’s description of the skating show courtesy of the Disney Parks Blog:

Get ready to gather on Hollywood Boulevard for a new dazzling skating spectacular set to your favorite holiday tunes. Several times each evening, take in the grace and skill of international champion skaters in an awe-inspiring twist on the traditional ice show.ย

The skating show’s concept art suggests it will take place with the Chinese Theater as its backdrop. There’s a lot of space in the park’s hub, and we’ve already seen stages – such as the one for the old Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away fashion show – in this location. It’s an ideal spot for some additional Jollywood Nights entertainment.

Speaking of Jollywood Nights entertainment, there was a lot of disappointment last year during the event’s inaugural run. Entertainment was a bit few and far between, and many guests felt there was room for improvement. Previous entertainment such as Whatโ€™s This? Tim Burtonโ€™s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along, Disney Holidays in Hollywood, and Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! will all return.

Will the new skating show make Jollywood Nights more of a must-do ticketed event? Or does Disney still have work to do? Personally, we’d like to see more offerings spread out throughout Hollywood Studios. There’s plenty of opportunities for Galaxy’s Edge. But, overall we’re excited to see something new added to Jollywood Nights.
