Disney has announced some rough timelines for the theming change at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. The current version starring Aerosmith is set to stay open throughout 2025. Then, in 2026, the new version starring The Muppets will take over.
Unfortunately, Disney didn’t elaborate on any specific dates. However, we think that the current version with Aerosmith will close very early in 2026. Disney won’t want to disrupt any holiday crowds, but they will need to get started in the early stages of the year to meet the announced 2026 opening with The Muppets.
We don’t have many details about the Muppets retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Disney has only said that guests should expect “laughter, screams and new tunes.” That said, we can infer that the theming swap won’t be too detailed as Disney is planning to spend less than a year on this project.
While we’re glad The Muppets will find a new home in Hollywood Studios in 2026, we hope Disney takes their time to make sure the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster update doesn’t feel cheap or rushed.
