Mickey Mouse’s sorcerer hat has returned to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Well, sort of. A smaller version of the sorcerer hat has been installed in The Magic of Disney Animation courtyard that’s being built in the former Animation Courtyard area.
Walt Disney Imagineering shared a picture of the new sorcerer hat on Instagram.
The new sorcerer hat is a lot smaller than the old one that was considered the icon of Hollywood Studios for many years. This one is part of the animation building’s facade and, thankfully, isn’t a giant monstrosity that blocks the entire view of the Chinese Theatre.
Disney also shared a look at new handprints and footprints in the concrete from some very familiar Disney characters. What a great twist on the celebrity footprints and handprints in front of the Chinese Theatre.
The courtyard will open to guests on May 26, 2026, and the remainder of the Magic of Disney Animation will open in late summer 2026.
