First Portion of DinoLand USA Closing January 13, 2025

Updated:

Disney has announced that the first construction walls will go up in DinoLand USA on January 13, 2025 as the land is turned into the new Tropical Americas. DinoLand USA will change in phases, with TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures Gift Shop being the first to permanently close in January.

Disney has added new closing announcements on their website, such as this one below from Chester & Hester’s.

Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures will close permanently on January 13, 2025, to make way for the Tropical Americas coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park in 2027.

These first areas that are closing will become a new attraction based on Encanto.

DinoLand USA’s other locations, including DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, the Boneyard, and Dino-Bite Snacks do not have a closing date at this time. These spaces will remain open into 2025, but we don’t think they’ll survive the entire year. DINOSAUR will become an attraction based on Indiana Jones once it closes its doors.

These first closures probably won’t impact the guest experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom too dramatically. However, when the rest of DinoLand USA closes, we expect things to get a bit crazy in the park. Animal Kingdom doesn’t have the biggest roster of attractions, and that’ll become even more apparent when DINOSAUR closes.
