The rooms at Disney’s Yacht Club resort have been updated! The minor refurbishment added a colorful rug, new curtains, and other minor touches around the room. While the update wasn’t extensive, we’ll take a look at what’s new in some of our favorite Disney World resort rooms.
We checked out the room updates during our stay in May 2025. The front desk mentioned work was complete on most of the Yacht Club’s floors, but we saw visible construction in the rooms on the first floor. Everything should be wrapping up soon.
Walking into a refurbished King Water View room, we immediately noticed the new rug. It adds a nice pop of color and helps break up the flooring.
The rug noticeably dampens the noise in the room, which is a welcome change. One of our lone complaints about the rooms before was how the laminate flooring would make sounds carry from nearby rooms. We also like how the rug helps define the bedframe’s footprint.
Other changes include a lighter color for the headboard, light blue curtains (RIP navy blue constellation curtains), and new fabric on the desk chair. There’s a better look at the curtains and chair below.
The changes in the bathroom were much more minimal. Blue paint was added to the walls by the shower and toilet. The rest of the bathroom remains unchanged, and still has some of the old nautical-themed wallpaper.
Overall, we’re a fan of the Yacht Club room refurbishment! Like the room updates over at Disney’s Pop Century resort, Disney has added some welcome color to what was an overly minimal design. We hope Disney keeps adding more color and theming back to its resort rooms and ditches the modern (see: boring) templates.
