Stop us if you’ve heard this one before – there’s a lot of scaffolding up around Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Disney’s extensive work on the exterior of the Yacht Club continues. Currently, the resort’s waterside is mostly covered in scaffolding. As a result, a large number of the resort’s best rooms are unavailable to guests.
Friend of the site DC Baker was recently able to capture some pictures showing the extent of the project.

Scaffolding has been a focal point at the Yacht Club since early 2025. It’s believed that simple refurbishment uncovered more serious issues that required completely replacing the siding. That work, in addition to roofing work, has been underway since early 2026. The refurbishment period was then extended into late 2026.
Disney’s notice about the refurbishment to Yacht Club guests:
This work will impact views from various locations throughout the Resort and—at times—require alternate paths of travel. Guests may see or hear work in the area during daytime hours until the refurbishment is complete.

The big loss here (besides the views) is how many water view rooms are unavailable while the scaffolding is up. It has been extremely difficult to book a water view room this summer because so many aren’t being offered. While we’re glad Disney doesn’t book these rooms, we had hopes this project wouldn’t go on quite as long. Those water view rooms are some of the best in Walt Disney World.
We’ve stayed at the Yacht Club a couple times while scaffolding was up. We can’t escape it! Thankfully, its impact was pretty minimal on our stays. We heard construction work taking place during the day, and we did have to take some alternate routes when walking around the outside of the resort. Nothing too crazy. It was nothing that would make us want to avoid the Yacht Club – though we wish the scaffolding wasn’t a reoccurring feature.
