Disney Skyliner Briefly Closing in January 2026

Updated:

The Disney Skyliner is scheduled to close for a brief refurbishment in January 2026. Disney has announced that the transportation system will be closed January 25 through January 31, 2026. Bus transportation will be offered during the closure.

Guests will be the most impacted at resorts directly serviced by the Disney Skyliner, including Disney’s Pop Century, Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach. Thankfully, Disney is giving everyone plenty of notice that the very convenient gondolas won’t be in operation during this period.

This upcoming closure in January 2026 matches other refurbishment periods in the Disney Skyliner’s history of operation. While the system skipped its 2025 refurbishment, the Disney Skyliner has historically been closed for at least a handful of days every January. These refurbishment periods have lasted anywhere between five and nine days.
