Disney World’s Blizzard Beach water park appears to be set to reopen on November 4, 2024 according to Disney’s operating calendar. Beginning the same day, Typhoon Lagoon water park is no longer appearing on the operating calendar.
It appears Disney’s plan to only have one water park open at a time is continuing into the foreseeable future. The two water parks haven’t been open simultaneously since before the 2020 closures. Disney appears content to rotate their water parks seasonally, which cuts down on maintenance and operations costs.
It’s worth noting that 2025 should see a small boost in water park attendance as the new Disney resort guest perk begins. Beginning in 2025, guests staying at a Disney hotel can visit a water park for free on their check-in day. The perk is only available on check-in day, which isn’t ideal for many guests, but could be a nice option for guests who arrive early.
