Rumor: March of the First Order to end at Hollywood Studios

Updated:

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will reportedly see a few changes ahead of the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. New rumors suggest that the March of the First Order will end this summer prior to the opening of the new land. The roaming Stormtroopers who patrol near Launch Bay will also move prior to opening.

These reports, as seen over on WDWMagic, state that the March of the First Order will conclude on July 7, 2019. The roaming Stormtroopers near Launch Bay are also expected to wrap up on that same day.

While these rumors haven’t been officially confirmed at this time, they hold a lot of water. The specific date might end up changing, but the conclusion of the March of the First order makes sense for several reasons. For starters, it won’t make much thematic sense to have them marching down the middle of Hollywood Studios when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has opened for business. More importantly, it might also create some operating headaches as the March shuts down large areas of the main walkway into Hollywood Studios, blocking access amidst the huge crowds.

You can check out the full March of the First Order below if you’ve never seen it.

The removal of the Stormtroopers near Launch Bay also seems to check out as there will reportedly be roaming Stormtroopers inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Instead of bringing in additional cast members to fulfill this role, Disney can slide over their existing Stromtroopers to take on the role around Batuu.

Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away, the stage show that takes place near the Chinese Theatre, is expected to continue as scheduled. That may not make thematic sense, but it is an offering that attracts a good number of guests in a theme park that needs as many offerings as possible.
