Rumor: Changes coming to the Artist Point restaurant at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Changes may be coming soon to Artist Point, the signature dining experience located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. According to rumors seen on various Disney websites, including WDWMagic.com, Artist Point is expected to close before reopening after a refurbishment period with a new type of dining experience.

From the various reports, a kitchen and dining room remodel seem likely for the fine dining location. Beyond that, the rumors speculate that a character dining experience may be on the horizon. Reservations appear to be unavailable beyond October 2018, giving some merit to all of the rumors.

The character rumor seems plausible as Wilderness Lodge currently lacks any kind of character dining offering. That’s a bit unusual for one of the more high-end DVC resorts. Historically, Artist Point has been home to character meals in the past, including one with Pocahontas in the late ’90s.

Artist Point is a fairly large location that is currently only open for dinner. Reimagining that space into something that could be used throughout the day – a character breakfast for example – may go a long way in expanding the dining options for Wilderness Lodge guests.
