Could a Muppets retheme be coming to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios? It’s certainly possible if Jeff Yorkes, co-creator of the Disney+ series The Muppets Mayhem, has a say in the ride’s future.
Yorkes confirmed on Twitter that a retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster into a Muppets attraction was included in the original pitch for the show. The Tweet was later deleted, but you can see what Yorkes originally said below.
Not gonna lie– this was absolutely part of our original pitch and is another piece of this dream. Fingers-crossed that it happens. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 #TheMuppetsMayhem
RUMOR – Muppets Mayhem To Replace Aerosmith On Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster, Fans Give It A Thumbs UP! https://t.co/TBitIw5yPh

While Yorkes confirmed the idea was pitched, it’s unclear if Disney is planning to move forward with the concept.
Converting Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster from an Aerosmith coaster into one with The Muppets is one that has been widely discussed by Disney fans for quite some time. Now, there’s some confirmation that those involved with The Muppets have had similar conversations.
The current Aerosmith theme for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is dated and has become a bit controversial as misconduct allegations surround lead singer Steven Tyler. Adding in The Muppets adds new life, promotes a Disney property (and we know Disney loves that), and distances Disney from those stories. Personally, we’d also love to see Dr. Teeth and the gang showcased in a major attraction.
Looking at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as a whole, Muppet Vision 3D, which is located on the opposite side of the park, feels like its gradually getting pushed out. Retheming Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster could create a new home for everything Muppets and allow Disney to overhaul the current Muppet Vision 3D space.
Disney fans have been divided over recent attraction rethemes at Walt Disney World, but turning Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster into a Muppets coaster should be a huge hit.
