MagicBand Discounts Disappear for Disney World Resort Guests and Passholders

Updated:

Disney has seemingly ended MagicBand discounts for resort guests and annual passholders. Previously, Disney offered discounts around $10 on MagicBands for resort guests before their arrival and for annual passholders. That perk has now been removed from Disney World’s website.

Below are the remaining MagicBand benefits for pre-arrival resort guests and annual passholders.

  • Free shipping
  • Free personalization
  • A custom shipping box
  • MagicBand+ automatically linked to your MyDisney account

Disney used to give free MagicBands out to resort guests and annual passholders, but then that eventually changed to a steep discount. Then that big discount changed to a much smaller discount. And now that discount is gone entirely. It’s a good summary of the direction Disney has moved in the past 10ish years.

It’s also disappointing to see yet another perk removed for Disney resort guests. These guests pay a premium (often a steep premium) to stay with Disney, and yet the value seems to keep eroding year after year. The same is true for annual passholders, Disney’s most dedicated fans.

The savings Disney will see by ending the discounts is so small in the scheme of things that removing the perk almost feels more uncomfortable than other price hikes we’ve seen this month. Are times really that desperate?
