“Wonderful World of Animation” cinematic nighttime experience coming to Hollywood Studios in May 2019

Updated:

A newย “Wonderful World of Animation” cinematic nighttime experience is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Using state-of-the-art projection technology, the show will take guests on a tour of Disney animation over the past 90 years.

The show is set to debut in May 2019 to coincide with Hollywood Studios’ 30th anniversary.

This will likely replace the current Disney Movie Magic show that currently runs prior to the regular Star Wars fireworks show. The current projection show takes guests through a random collection of movies (TRON, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc). Tying this show to Disney animation, including Mickey Mouse himself, would make a lot of sense – particularly with the show being projected on the home of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
