Guests staying at the Grand Floridian Resort will have a new way of arriving at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in the near future. Recent permits filed in the area suggest that a new walkway will be built that will allow guests to walk from the resort to the Magic Kingdom.
You can see the area where a walkway will likely be installed in the aerial photo below. Construction equipment has already been positioned in the area near the canal that stores the floats for the Electrical Water Pageant.

The folks over at Laughing Place were able to confirm the permits through an emailed statement by Disney. That confirmation matches similar reports from Disney insiders who said a walkway connected to the Grand Floridian Resort was in the original plans for an overhaul to the Magic Kingdom’s entrance.
Additional details, such as what kind of bridge or walkway will bring guests over the canal, have not been announced or released at this time. Regardless, it’s great to see another resort at Walt Disney World connected via walkway to a theme park.
