Continued testing of the Disney Skyliner is taking place around Walt Disney World. Most recently, cabins were spotted running on the line by the station that sits between Pop Century Resort and the Art of Animation Resort.
Take a look at the video below to get a sense of the speed and how many cabins will be able to move on the line at a given time.
After seeing some of the testing in person, we were surprised by how quickly the cabins moved across the line. The rumored speed of about 11mph seems much faster in person. These speeds line up with the estimated travel times that we have discussed.
Previously, guests have also spotted additional testing just outside Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Disney has stated that the Disney Skyliner is expected to open in Fall 2019. However, we would imagine that they’d love to have it open in advance of the crowds who will arrive for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on August 29, 2019.
