Tomorrowland PeopleMover refurbishment now scheduled to last through January 9, 2021

Updated:

The refurbishment of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover appears to have been extended yet again at the Magic Kingdom. The Walt Disney World attraction calendar has been updated to show the Tomorrowland PeopleMover closed through at least January 9, 2021.

As always, this new date on the calendar is subject to change. Disney has pushed the refurbishment date back again and again, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them extend it further.

Previously, the iconic Magic Kingdom attraction didn’t reopen with the park in July and most recently was scheduled to be closed through December 26, 2020. While Disney has not officially commented on the Tomorrowland PeopleMover, it is believed that the trackโ€™s motors are being replaced and sourcing the proper parts has been difficult due to the ongoing pandemic.

It’s always possible the Tomorrowland PeopleMover will reopen early, but Disney is clearly planning for a lengthy closure.
