Construction continues to be a dominant feature of EPCOT. The World Celebration area, which makes up the center spine of EPCOT, is still very much an active construction site. This latest update shows that there’s a lot of work that still needs to be done before the area is ready for guests.
The amazing @bioreconstruct recently took to the sky and provided some new aerial images of World Celebration.

This overview shows the ongoing work on CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, the work left on the center walkways, and the final touches going into the Journey of Water walk-through attraction.
Another angle shows World Celebration from the perspective of World Showcase.

This angle offers a better view of CommuniCore Hall & Plaza. The building’s shape sure looks a lot like the old Innoventions West, doesn’t it? One has to wonder why Disney didn’t just renovate Innoventions West when they ended up building something very similar, but that’s a discussion for a different day.
It’s great to see measurable progress in the center of EPCOT. But, construction fatigue has definitely set in as the center spine of EPCOT has been a sea of construction walls for about four years. The new spaces may struggle to live up to the weight of their lengthy timelines.
World Celebration is currently expected to open in late 2023.
