Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will close for refurbishment January 2025 through May 2025. The planned closure is for “routine maintenance” and guests are invited to swim in the other resort pools during the refurbishment.
Below is the announcement as seen on Walt Disney World’s website:
From January 2025 through May 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools.
The closing of Stormalong Bay in early 2025 is a big blow to guests staying at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. The pool, which is more like a miniature 3-acre water park, is a huge amenity at the two resorts. Stormalong Bay has a sand-bottomed pool with a small lazy river, an awesome slide, and a great play area for kids.
Stormalong Bay is easily a top pool at Walt Disney World if not the best pool at any Disney resort. It’s a great place to spend a resort day when taking a break from the theme parks. It’s sad to see it close for an extended period, but we’re thankful Disney is giving guests plenty of advanced notice.
