It’s time for a progress update on the new Encanto ride coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! When we last checked, deep concrete forms were in place for the attraction’s ride building. Now, a large section of steel framing has risen up even before some of the concrete floors have been poured.
New aerial images from @bioreconstruct show the steel framing in place for roughly a third of the Encanto ride building.
Another view shows the large crane that’s working on the site. This looks like a lot of progress since construction first went vertical back in October 2025.
We can also see a deep pit in one area of the Encanto building. What’s this area going to be used for? The ride isn’t supposed to be multi-level, so what show scene will this hold?
Disney hasn’t released too many details about the Encanto attraction. We know we’ll spend time in Casita and in Antonio’s room, but that’s about it. Below is a tease of the ride experience from Disney.
Inside the Casita, Antonio has just received his special gift — the ability to communicate with animals — and his room has transformed into a rainforest. It’s time to go explore alongside him, and you never know what member of the family you might bump into…

We’re thrilled to see work on the Encanto ride moving along so quickly. We know there’s still a lot of work to do, but this pace is encouraging. Maybe the new Tropical Americas land really will be ready for its scheduled 2027 opening date.
