Steel framing continues to rise up around the TRON coaster

Updated:

It’s time for another construction update on the TRON coaster at the Magic Kingdom. After watching crews rapidly assemble a large portion of the coaster track, work has shifted to the steel framing for the building that will house the attraction.

The always awesome @bioreconstruct on Twitter captured some great looks of the ride building construction.

Taking a closer look, we can see that the framing is roughly as tall as the installed track pieces. The building and its enormous canopy will stretch well above the coaster track once everything is completed, meaning there’s still a lot of work to do.

Guests riding on the PeopleMover, an attraction we’d call one of the most underrated at the Magic Kingdom, are offered a great view of the full TRON coaster project as they head towards Space Mountain. It’s already easy to see that the TRON coaster will dramatically change the entire look and feel of Tomorrowland.

The TRON coaster is expected to open in the Magic Kingdom at 2021.
