Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Closing for Extended Refurbishment in Early 2023

Updated:

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will close for an extended period in early 2023. The Aerosmith-themed coaster will close for refurbishment beginning on February 20, 2023. It’s not expected to reopen until Summer 2023.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster’s theme and the overall guest experience are not the primary focus of this refurbishment. The coaster’s launch system is believed to be the primary maintenance target. The ride has seen some considerable downtime in recent months (and years), and the upcoming refurbishment will aim to correct that.

Guests should be aware that Disney’s Hollywood Studios will see pressure on its other attractions once Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closes. The park doesn’t have a huge roster of attractions, which amplifies the impact of a ride closing for an extended period.
