Report: Disney executives expected to resume normal salaries

Disney executives who took pay cuts in March 2020 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic could see their pay restored in the near future. According to Deadline, an internal email announced that the pay cuts were ending this week, though it’s unclear if the change would include Bob Iger and Bob Chapek.

Via Deadline:

“We hear the impacted employees at the House of Mouse were informed yesterday that the pay reduction period is ending, effective this Sunday. The changes will be reflected in executives’ next paychecks. The timing on of that restoration will varying depending on individual pay schedules. It is unclear whether the pay restoration would impact Iger and Chapek.”

When Disney announced the pay cuts in March, Bob Chapek said the salaries wouldn’t be restored until the company can “foresee a substantive recovery in our business.” This news would indicate Disney sees some light on the horizon. However, it’s worth noting that many cast members remain furloughed and Walt Disney World park hours will be reduced beginning September 8.

Hopefully additional cast members will be brought back in the near future.
