Shopping on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is about to change. The Planet Hollywood Super Store is expected to close in February 2019 and be replaced by an expansion of the connected Legends of Hollywood store.
WDWMagic reports that guests looking for Planet Hollywood specific merchandise will be able to find items at the Planet Hollywood restaurant in Disney Springs.
As Disney’s Hollywood Studios transforms its identity from a movie studio into the locations of the movies themselves, it’s not surprising that the Planet Hollywood Super Store exits. We also imagine that the Planet Hollywood brand may have not been connecting with guests (who went to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to purchase Planet Hollywood merchandise?), making the decision to expand the Legends of Hollywood store an easy one.
