Photos of the construction on the Disney Skyliner at Epcot

Date:

The Disney Skyliner will be a new form of transportation coming to Disney World in the very near future. The Skyliner is essentially a gondola (think skiing, not boats) system that will take guests to several different locations on Disney World property.

The photo at the top of the page, courtesy of @bioreconstruct on Twitter, shows the area where the cable will pass over on its way to Disney’s new Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort and Hollywood Studios. There will likely be at least one column/tower in this location that will support the cable.

One of the Skyliner stations will sit just outside the International Gateway at Epcot. Based on new photos from the location (seen below), work is underway on the foundations of the station.

The two photos above show the early stages of construction on the International Gateway station. Disney previously released the concept art of the station, seen below.

When the work is completed, the Skyliner will completely alter the look and feel of the current International Gateway. However, it will provide a new form of transportation for guests looking to travel between Epcot, Hollywood Studios and a few of the resorts around the two theme parks.
