Many Walt Disney World projects have slowed to a halt during the COVID-19 closures and “Stay at Home” orders. However, some construction projects are continuing to push forward – at least on paper.
A series of new permits have been filed for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, the resort that’s being built on the site of the old River Country Water Park. The permits include plans for a variety of projects for the resort, including a bus transportation area, a table service restaurant, a dock and other outdoor structures.
None of the permits include any information that’s particularly surprising or overly fun to analyze, but they do indicate Disney is still moving forward with the Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge project at this time. The permits suggest Disney is getting everything ready to pick up construction when COVID-19 eventually eases. That’s noteworthy as other construction projects, such as the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel, are rumored to be delayed indefinitely.
To date, Disney has only released a few pieces of concept art for this new resort and has been fairly vague when discussing its nature theme. We would love to learn more about the specifics of Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, but we imagine Disney doesn’t want to market anything at this point given the likelihood that budgets, plans and timelines could change.
