It’s time to book your FastPass+ reservation for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Guests noticed that the attraction has been added to the FastPass+ selections at the theme park beginning March 4, 2020, joining Smugglers Run and Slinky Dog Dash in the top tier.
Previously, it was rumored that Disney might try to use the virtual boarding system that’s currently being used at Rise of the Resistance for the opening of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. That doesn’t appear to be the case as Disney will instead use the more traditional FastPass+ and standby line system for guests.
So, why will this new attraction use the FastPass+ system while Rise of the Resistance used the virtual boarding pass system? The most likely reason surrounds the topic of reliability. Rise of the Resistance continues to have its various issues that force the ride to suffer extended downtime. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway isn’t expected to have the same level of difficulty, meaning it won’t need to limit guests quite as drastically as seen over at Rise of the Resistance.
