Walt Disney World’s map of Epcot has been updated with some important changes. The map now shows Epcot’s new neighborhoods and the infrastructure for the nighttime spectacular Harmonious.
Disney used Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary to officially rename sections of Epcot. Guests will now see the new names – World Nature, World Discovery and World Celebration – in place of Future World.
RIP Future World. Now, World Nature is home to the Land and Seas Pavilions. World Discovery is home to Test Track and Mission: SPACE. Finally, World Celebration is the new name for the center of the park. World Showcase will continue to be known as World Showcase.
Speaking of World Showcase, the barges for Harmonious have been added to World Showcase Lagoon.
The map definitely takes some creative liberties with the barges. Unfortunately, the real life versions don’t blend in nearly as well.
The other notable addition is over on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This “other-world” Pavilion has its opening date of 2022 officially listed on the map.
Guests should expect more changes to Epcot’s map as additional projects are completed.
