Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo abandons themed menu names

Updated:

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has updated their online menu to remove the themed names for its many items. The change, which can be spotted on the online menu, replaces names such as Fried Endorian Tip Yip and Smoked Kaadu Ribs with simplified names such as Fried Chicken and Smoked Pork Ribs.

Below is an image of the updated menu with the simplified names:

The decision to remove the in-universe names from the menu was likely made due to guest confusion. Despite each item having a detailed description, it was clear on our visits that guests weren’t too sure what they were ordering. Cast members at the registers could be overheard answering lots of questions and offering simplified item descriptions.

We were a bit guilty of this ourselves as we ordered the Felucian Garden Spread and didn’t really know what we’d be eating. It ended up being delicious and was one of the reasons we named Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo one of the best quick service restaurants in Walt Disney World.

There’s a fine line between theming and practicality. We never like to see theming scaled back, but we understand this change following the confusion witnessed within Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo.
