Disney’s Hollywood Studios adopts earlier opening times to meet demand for Rise of the Resistance

Enormous crowds continue to line up in front of Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the hopes of experiencing Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. As a result, Hollywood Studios has adopted even earlier opening times in an attempt to meet the huge guest demand.

The shift in times includes openings of 7:00am through Christmas before shifting to 6:00am through New Year’s Eve.

December 14 – December 19
7am – 9pm

December 20 – December 25
7am – 10pm

December 26 – December 31
6am – 10pm

January 1 – January 4
7am – 9pm

After January 4, Hollywood Studios reverts back to an 8am opening. Future schedule changes may be announced if Disney determines the demand warrants earlier opening times.

It’s worth noting that Rise of the Resistance is not available during Extra Magic Hours for Walt Disney World resort guests.

So, what time should you plan on arriving to Hollywood Studios in order to secure a virtual boarding pass? That’s a difficult question to forecast. To date, crowds have formed as early as 5am to try and secure a spot for the most anticipated Disney ride in recent memory. We’d recommend arriving at least an hour to two hours before the scheduled opening (if not earlier) if your goal is to experience Rise of the Resistance.
